When my mother became a resident at Village Oaks Assisted Living Facility, I decided that once I retired I would love to volunteer my time there.
This past Christmas I hosted a tea party for a number of the Village Oaks residents at my condo on the beach in Melbourne, Florida. The ladies were brought over by their activities director, Diana Lupinsky, in the limo provided by Village Oaks.
Lunch was chicken prepared with a packaged seasoning, purchased potato salad, Michelle's cranberry gelatin and snap peas. After enjoying lunch I served Afternoon Blend Fine Ceylon Tea that my sister, Kathi Green, brought me from England. Accompanying the tea were my homemade cinnamon fruit cupcakes.
The ladies thoroughly enjoyed their outing with the view of the ocean
from our fifth floor and the lunch followed by tea. We all voted to have
another tea for Spring.
